FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

What is the lead time?

Our turnaround time starts at 16 weeks for billet slides. All lead times are approximate and can change depending on volume of orders coming in, availability of metal, parts and tools from suppliers. Delays can occur due to natural disasters, machinery being down, new compliances put in place by California, etc. Our listed turnaround times are there to give a rough idea but are not exact completion times and will differ. All DV8 slides are made from scratch from a solid bar of stainless steel, not from blanks. It takes a tremendous amount of time and labor to start with raw piece of metal and arrive at a final product–but we do this because we believe in delivering our customers the finest quality product over just sheer speed and turning a maximum profit. Because all slides are made to order we are able to offer our customers more options and customization to choose from. Please be patient with us.

What to put in the notes?

Please read: In the color notes ONLY put color requests. No other notes outside of color will be accommodated. Check out note section is for delivery requests only. It is to request a type of shipping or requests to hold shipping till certain date. No other request will be accommodated.

Will I be notified when my slide is completed?

Yes! You will get an e-mail notifying you that your order is completed. Please make sure you enter your e-mail correctly at the time of ordering as that is the e-mail all correspondences will be directed through.

Will I receive tracking?

Yes! You will receive tracking. All orders are shipped with tracking and are signature required.

What shipping method is used?

Most orders go out via USPS. If you need a different method of shipping please request it and we will do our best to accommodate.

I didn’t receive my order confirmation?

Order confirmation is sent out automatically by our website. If you didn’t receive a confirmation within 24hrs please check your spam folder. If your Spam filter is set on High it can filter out our automatic e-mails as well as our direct correspondence.

Please also check that your e-mail address was entered correctly on the order. *If you created an account at the time of the order you will be able to login and check your order information.

Can I pick up in person?

Yes! If you are local we can schedule a pick up time for you once your slide is completed.

Will I receive updates throughout the process?

Our automated system is not able to send out updates throughout the entire process of manufacturing. We do not have the bandwidth to send out updates manually throughout the process because doing so for hundreds of customers a day would take time away from getting your order completed. You will receive 3 automatic e-mails through the process; the first is the Order Confirmation, 2nd is Order Completion and the last is an email with the Tracking Number. If you did not receive an Order Confirmation e-mail please check your Spam folder. If you do not see it in the Spam folder please notify us as the e-mail address might have been entered incorrectly on the order and will prevent us from further communicating with you. Please include a valid phone number on the order as it will help us reach you in case the e-mail is not correct.

How can I check on the progress of my order?

Please check the Order Status page. If you need further assistance please fill out our Contact Form and we will do our best to respond in 72 hrs (our volume of inquiries is high and it takes longer to respond).

***Please wait at least 6 weeks before checking on your order. It will not be done sooner and we will not have a ship date nor a progress update that early on. We ask to please be patient and not e-mail us daily or weekly–as it just adds to our response time and slows the progress down. We do understand you are very excited and our team is dedicated towards working hard 7 days a week to get orders completed and shipped.  We very much appreciate your support and patience.

Having trouble reaching us?

If you are having trouble reaching us via e-mail or contact form please leave us a message via our chat. If you sent a message via our contact form or e-mailed our contact e-mail directly you will receive a confirmation e-mail to let you know we received your message. If you did no receive a confirmation e-mail it means we did not receive your e-mail.

*If we don’t respond to your e-mail it is very likely we might not have received it or might have unintentionally missed it in the large volumes of e-mails we get daily. We are short staffed and are doing our best to respond as quickly as possible.

Do you have a showroom?

We do have a small showroom by appointment only. We have on display both slides for Glock and Springfield in most cuts and models we offer.

*Please schedule an appointment ahead of time.

GLOCK:

Do I need to install a channel liner?

No, you do not need a channel liner with our slides. All of our slides are channeless and do not require the use of a channel liner.

Does the slide need a break-in period?

Yes, the slides require a break-in period. Make sure to oil the slide and rack it before taking it to the range. The slide will require a minimum 200 rounds to fully break-in. To break in the slide shoot 50-100 rounds and clean it, lube it and shoot another 50-100 rounds and repeat the process.

Will aftermarket barrels fit?

We guarantee fit for factory barrels. Aftermarket barrels do vary in tolerances and don’t always work with the tighter tolerances of our slides. Some aftermarket barrels might require fitting.

Can I mount the optic directly to the slide?

Yes! You don’t need any mounting plates. The optic will mount directly to the slide that is why each optic has it’s own optic cut to fit exactly. All optic seat cuts come with mounting screws and a hex wrench to install the optic.

**Please do not use factory screws that come with the optic on our slides. They won’t fit and will get stuck.

Sight Fit:

G43 slides are cut for standard glock iron sights.

Do I need tall suppressor sights to co-witness?

Yes, tall suppressor height sights are necessary if you want to co-witness.

Springfield Armory:

Will my factory extractor fit?

Factory extractors are slide specific and will not always fit. The factory extractor might need  adjustment. We always recommend for this type of work to be done by a licensed gunsmith who has a lot of experience working with Springfield Armory firearms.

Does the slide need a break-in period?

Yes, the slides require a break-in period. Make sure to oil the slide before taking it to the range. The slide will require a minimum 200 rounds to fully break-in. To break in the slide shoot 50-100 rounds and clean it, lube it and shoot another 50-100 rounds and repeat the process.

Recoil Springs fit?

Recoil Spring fit can differ on larger slides like 5″ and 5.25″, this mostly affects 9mm. It might require further fitting or a bushing that we can provide.

My striker retainer pin is too long?

This will be the case if you have an optic seat cut. The height of the slide will be shorter in that area as metal was removed to accommodate the optic. You will need to shorten the pin to fit to the new height. If you bought our parts kit then we will make that adjustment at the time of installation.

**We recommend that you have a licensed gunsmith perform this work.

Can you move the optic seat to the back of the slide?

Due to the internal cavities we are not able to do this for most optic cuts. The only optic that can be fitted to the very rear of the slide is Holosun k series. Holosun k series placement can only be fitted in the very rear and the iron sight dovetail is moved to the front of the optic.

Can you cut the optic seat cut deeper?

No, the depth we cut it at is the deepest we can go without breaking into the internal cavities.

Do I need tall suppressor sights to co-witness? What iron sights will fit?

Yes, tall suppressor height sights are necessary if you want to co-witness. Vortex Venom is the tallest of the optics and will sit higher than the rest especially on a Springfield as we can’t cut the optic very deep due to internal cavities. You will need the rear iron sight to be at least 0.47″ overall height to clear.

All XD, XDM, XDs and Hellcat slides are cut with standard XD iron sight dovetail.

Will aftermarket barrels fit?

We guarantee fit for factory barrels. Aftermarket barrels do vary in tolerances and don’t always work with the tighter tolerances of our slides. Some aftermarket barrels might require fitting. We found Bar-Sto barrels do need further fitting. Most EFK Fire Dragon barrels will be drop in (there are always some exceptions).
